From the Plant to the Person

The short edition of the WIZDOM system. Thirty-nine pages, six chapters, free. Short by design, because I would rather you finished it than admired it on a shelf.

I wrote the long version for a cohort that pays to be taught. This is the honest condensation of its first volume, and I give it away because the thing I most want to change is not what people buy. It is what they can tell apart.

Most cannabis education has exactly one register, and that register is confident. The proven and the invented get stated in the same tone of voice. That is why patients cannot tell the difference, and it is why a lot of physicians stopped listening to us. So in this booklet every load-bearing claim carries a tag that tells you how firmly to hold it: established, supported, hypothesised, observed, unknown, refuted, overstated. That habit, not any single fact in the book, is the actual product.

What is in it

Six chapters. Chapter one is scope of practice: what a coach may do, what a coach may not do, and the five-question conversation you can run this week. Chapter two is the endocannabinoid system and the cannabinoids, explained twice, once for a patient and once for a clinician. Chapter three is terpenes, chemovars and how to actually read a label. Chapter four is the entourage effect and what survives of it. Chapter five is the curve, tolerance, the liver and the route. Chapter six is the method.

There are four places in it where I correct something I taught from a stage for years. The twenty-eight day tolerance rule. The four hundred and thirty-two terpenes. The 1998 entourage mechanism. And the belief, which cost my patients more than any of the others, that more of a good thing is more good. I left those corrections in the free version on purpose.

Who it is for

A clinician who has been asked about cannabis one time too many and wants a defensible answer. A coach who wants a scope they can state out loud without flinching. A patient or a family member who is tired of being sold to and would like the honest map instead.

It is not a protocol and it is not medical advice. Nothing in it replaces your prescriber, and anything involving a lab value or a prescribed medicine belongs in their hands, not mine.

If you would rather read something first

Four of the chapters have been rewritten as standalone guides, free and ungated:

And if you are already on a prescribed protocol, My Cannabis Journal is a free tool for recording what you take and what happens, so the pattern is visible to you and to your prescriber.
